International Mt Kanchangunga (8,586m) Expedition

Overview

Mt. Kanchangunga, 8564m, the 3rd mountain in the world, is located in east of Nepal. It is one of the most challenging among the 8000m peaks for climbing in Nepal. The mountains long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions. Normally 4 high camps are established to attempt the summit.

ITINERARY NORTH ROUTE:
  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
  • Day 02: Preparation for Expedition.
  • Day 03-04 : Drive to Suketar
  • Day 05: Suketar-Chirwa
  • Day 06: Chirwa-Sekarthum
  • Day 07: Sekarthum-Amji-Lhasa
  • Day 08: Amji-Lhasa- Guabla
  • Day 09: Guabla-Ghunsa
  • Day 10: Ghunsa-Khambachen
  • Day 11: Khambachen- Lonak.
  • Day 12: Lonak- Pangpema
  • Day 13: Pangpema-Kanchangunga BC
  • Day 14: Kanchangunga BC(5350), set up camp.
  • Day 15: Expedition Puja and Base Camp Reserve day.
  • Day 16: On the way to camp 1, back to BC
  • Day 17: Rest
  • Day 18: Camp1 (6400) , overnight in C1
  • Day 19: Way to Camp2, back to C1 (6400), overnight in C1
  • Day 20: Back to BC (5350)
  • Day 21,22: Rest in BC
  • Day 23: C1 (6400)
  • Day24: C2 (7200), overnight
  • Day 25: Way to Camp3, back to C1 (6400), overnight
  • Day 26: Back to BC (5350)
  • Day 27,28,29: Rest
  • Day 30: C1, overnight (6400)
  • Day 31: C2, overnight (7200)

  • Day 33: Back to BC (5350)

  • Day 40: Kanchangunga summit (8586), back C3( 7600), overnight
  • Day 41: Back to C2 (7200), overnight
  • Day 42: Back to C1 (6400), overnight
  • Day 43: Back to BC (5350)
  • Day 44,45: Rest in BC
  • Day 46-55: Way back to Kathmandu
  • Day 55-60: Extra days for bad weather

  • 5 nights hotel accommodation in Kathmandu on BB plan (before and after the expedition)

  • Transport of food supply and expedition equipment’s to Base Camp and back
  • Full board in lodges during trekking to base camp and back
  • Meals (B/L/D) and hot drinks at Base Camp during the expedition period
